Square root of minus one is unreal

An imaginary number is any number that is the product of a real number and the square root of negative one (-1). The square root of -1 is the "unit" of the set of imaginary numbers, and is referred to as "i". As you know, negative numbers cannot have square roots, and so the square root of any negative number is "unreal", or "imaginary".
